  1. Looking for a solo or couple occupants who are willing to sublet my apartment. It's a one bed room apartment, with a kitchen, living room, t&b with basic furnitures and appliances such as sofa, a desk and chairs, big cabinets, a cooker, and washing machine. It's located at Swan Castle, #569 Xixi road. It's not far from Zhejiang University Yuquan Campus. The monthly fee is 4,000. I have paid the agent fee already so it's a big save for you if you take over this apartment. Payment can be every 3 months. It has a lot a buses, shops, cafes, restaurants and a bank around. If anyone interested please let me know and will give you more details. I recently lost my phone so I can't post photos of the unit but if you're willing to see the place I'd be happy so show you. Leave your wechat ID or email and I'll contact you. Cheers!
  2. Hey everyone, I'm renting an apartment near Zijingang campus and looking for a roommate. It's a beautiful 3 bedroom/2 bath place on the 7th floor of a nice community near the southern gate of campus. I've already got one roommate, but still looking for one more. Prefer fellow Zhejiang University students, but others are welcome as well. Contact me for pictures and more info please! :)
  3. Hello everyone, I'm a new Zheda student with currently no (permanent) roof over my head. I am looking for a vacant room in a shared flat or fellow expats/native Chinese people to look for a flat together. I would prefer to live near Zhejiang University and not pay too much in terms of rent. Ideal flatmates would be mature and responsible - I am an accommodative personality but if you want to have friends over several nights each week and like to organise parties, I might not be the person you want to live with. I have rented an apartment with Chinese students in the past so I have a fairly good grasp of how the housing market in China works and what things could cause issues to a foreigner (there are many, and I've unfortunately encountered some). I can also get by with Chinese so I can communicate with agents and landlords and understand leasing contracts written in Chinese. PM me if you are interested or know someone who would be.

    Not exactly new to HZ

Hi everyone It's been a while since my last time to China (7 years to be specific), but nostalgia and the need to review & improve my Chinese have brought me back. Therefore, i'm planning to spend a semester at Zhejiang Uni, and also search for a job in the education sector (I teach both English and Spanish, my mother language). My interests are foreign languages, photography, movies, go to bars, Chinese food and martial arts (I practice Eskrima, which is a Filipino style). I already have some friends in HZ but I hope I can make some new ones here as well.
  5. Hello I am changing my location in Hagzhou and need to rent out my one bedroom studio. It is located on the corner of Gudun Lu and Ping Shui Lu, very close to the university. It has one bedroom, with small kitchenette and a big bathroom. It has a bed, a desk, a fridge, washing machine, a big wardrobe. It is around 30 square meter. The monthly rent is 2100, paid for three months upfront every three months. Plus a one month deposit. There is also a small monthly administration fee. Please contact me via PM, if you are interested I will send you some pictures. HAS BEEN TAKEN offer no longer available
  6. Good afternoon everybody. I actually had an account here before but forgot what it was, and the nickname was a little strange. Anyways, I have been living in Hangzhou for about 3 years now, and just graduated from Zhejiang University with a Master's in International Relations. Throughout my time living in this great city, I have noticed that many foreigners have a tough time finding things to do, or just need guidance on how to get things done, because it can be confusing, especially for those who don't understand the language. Last year, I founded CrackingChina to help foreigners living in Hangzhou solve problems, read HZ news, and even attend events such as hiking outings, Mandarin corners, presentations, etc. I'm not going to push my own group here though. Finally, I hope that I can contribute to the Hangzhou community and help others realize what a great place Hangzhou is. I can answer questions if you send me a message, and will start contributing on the boards. Later! George
  7. I just registered today for the Spring semester of the ZJU Language program which goes from March 16 to July 10. I came out to study at Zhejiang, and now I'm 100% committed. My problem: My very good friend is graduating from University in California on June 13th, and wanted to travel Asia with me June 18 to July 2nd. If I wanted to do these dates I would have to skip the final exams. The finals occur June 28th to July 10th. (My friend plans on starting work just after July 4th) Should I care about taking the exams? Do I need to pass them to attend the Fall semester? Ultimately I want to take HSK test and add that passing score to my resume. So, in a way, my grades at Zhejiang won't really matter. Or should I worry about the ZJU transcripts? Thoughts? Anyone know someone who skipped their finals?
  8. Hi, everybody ! My flatmate and I will leave Hangzhou soon, so, I am looking for someone to take over the flat with 2 bedrooms. The rooms are sunny and have a queen size bed with a comfortable matress, an AC, and clothes storages. Plus, the master room has a balcony. The rent of the whole flat is 3500 RMB a month, and is paid three months at a time. The flat is in Xihu District, in the Gudan Xincun (古荡新村) compound [Tianmushanlu, Wensanxilu, Gucuilu], close to the Zhejiang University Yuquan campus (only one stop by bus) and Xixi campus (2-3 stops) ! The whole flat is about 70 squared meters, full-furnished (a TV, a fridge, a washing machine...) . It has a bathroom (with shower), a kitchen and a big living room/dining room ! In the neighbourhood, you can find a lot of restaurants, and you have a park at 2 minutes by walk from the flat. If you're interested, feel free to come over and have a look, or please contact me if you want more details. [please send me private message for contact information] Cheers, Pascal

  10. Hi All... I've been studying at ZJU for a year now, and had a decent apartment not too far from campus. However it seems the Land lady doesn't want to renew the lease, (apparently the apartment belongs to the government and she isn't supposed to be renting it out. ) current apartment location: http://j.map.baidu.com/twNbv So I need to relocate somewhere nearby. any suggestions? My current setup was: 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom, a study, kitchen and lounge thanks

    Just Arrived, Got Scammed!

Howdy! I foolishly took a job with the Zhejiang University Helen Group China TEFL Network expecting to work at the Zhejiang Ag. Uni in Lin'an. When I arrived at the HQ, they claimed the position was no longer available and then they tried to shuffle me down to some school in Shenzhen. I am very disturbed by their deceit, they blatantly lied to me about the position. I am basically here on vacation now, looking for work. Anyone have any suggestions? Is it possible to get another job here? Or should I just grab the next flight out?! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! TJ
  15. Hi everyone, I'll be starting my studies in Zhejaing University Yuquan campus very soon. I'm due to arrive on the 24th Feb. I'm not counting on getting a place in their dorms so I'm currently desperately looking for a flat to rent or share, possible starting late Feb - early March 2014 If anyone has a spare room available (or know anyone who's offering), please do let me know. Alternatively, if anyone else is also looking for a flat around Yuquan campus area, do get in touch and maybe we could find a place to share together? Reply or PM me if anyone can be of any help. Thank you very much! Cheers!
