Hangzhou Red Light Area

Recommended Posts

I am in Hangzhou for a couple of weeks with work. We are staying out near the West Lake district. Just wanted to know if there is a Red Light district in town, or any dodgy bars (not KTV) with friendly girls in town.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks but no thanks - already got a GF for the GFE. Just want to go to a dodgy area where I can hang out and look at the girlies and listen to bands etc. Sort of like four floors of whores in Orchard Towers in Singapore or Wan Chai in HK. I know this is mainland China, but there must be some fun places/bars that arn't all lights, noise and people being as loud and pretentious as possible.

There's a couple places with belly dancers in town (what's that one BBQ joint on Nanshan Lu anyone?), but that's about as close to dodgy as you'll get without setting foot in a pink "massage" parlor.

Maoming Lu was far better in its day but now just a shadow of its former self.

Don't forget Julu Lu, Hengshan Lu & the bars behind Ritz Carton.

FUnny, I actually met a French dude in Shanghai about a year ago. We were all really drunk and he told us this story how he picked up a chick on tong ren lu..took her home, found out her was a him and did the deed anyway cause he was so drunk and he had already ponied up half the fare.

Thanks for the help guys. Will try Nanshan Rd. Don't want to head back to Shanghai (was there for a couple of weeks about a month ago) so going to see what is on offer here. After this we are onto Chongqing, Donggyuan and Shenzhen - the grand China tour:)

Thanks again for suggestions.

Havn't found exactly what I am looking for. Clubs either seem to be the doof doof variety (with a Chinese slant of course) or just eating/drinking places. There are plenty of hookers/dodgy massage options, but none of the dancing girls etc I was chasing. Found a relaxed bar around the corner with a pool table, cheap drinks and a dog behind the bar, so been hanging out there a bit.
