That's what I wanted to know. I'm eagerly expecting The Hobbit this winter, and I will be watching it in a Chinese cinema then.

I checked on the internet, The Hobbit has big chance to be imported to China. (China only agree to import 20 movies per year now, but the number will increase to 34 under the pressure from WTO)

btw, Hangzhou has two IMAX screens

That's grand news that :-D

While we're on the subject, how was Lord Of The Rings accepted in China?

It's normal popular, not as popular as <Harry Potter>, but is very welcome among the guys between teenage and youth.

Well, it is quite complicated. besides whether the movie will be popular or not, it is also about the fighting beween western movie producers, the selected movie will make lots of money for the producer from china market. it is also about how china can protect its own movie industry (for example, if there are some good chinese movie on screen in July, then china may refuse to import any movie published in July).

What I was thinking is - how did the audience receive LOTR films, considering it's a fantasy based on a purely European fiction world? I'm asking this because western audiences have little understanding for Asian cultural heritage, except wushu of course. Does Chinese audience hold more understanding for external substances?

I myself am a big fan of Asian cinematography, Chinese, Japanese and Korean, but I'm pretty lonely in that affection. Most of the people I know just cant comprehend Asian kind of visual expression.

I know this all looks like some very elaborate philosophical (and boring) discussion in a subject about entertainment, and I'm sorry for that, but as a man of art I like to discuss movies on all levels, especially on subtext.

Just getting hooked to Game of Thrones. Do you know where can I stream it online? The servers outside of China run slower than the imp in the series.

Thanks, will try to use that one. I have been trying with vodly.to, which shows many of those servers, but they are really slow for me.

Allmyvidoes.net and flash.tx work the best for me on china telecom 20mb/s. Putlocker/socks are ok but you have a 3 a day limit.

I am a big fan of movies (not exactly TV serial / soap) but I think 'Asian' cinema includes movies from many other countries than just those three.

If I have to stick to my opinion about TV, I would say I rather like the advertisements than other things that are shown between them.  :)

Yes I love watching movies on BIG screen and they have subtitles BUT be sure to confirm that when you buy tickets.

Those little girls at the counter nod their head for every thing  :)

I love to watch Chinese movies with English sub but i avoid movies with martial art blast every other second.

Pretty much any  American and many British shows are available on Chinese websites, you just need to search for them using the popular Chinese title on baidu. Click, click and more click and you will find anything. No need to download from torrents.

My favorite shows recently are:Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Boss, The Killing, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation.

I dont like Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, those are pretty boring and tiresome shows.

Good taste in tv. Disagree on GoT though, absolutely love it, but I've read all the books and they are some of the best i've ever read so I'm biased.

    • If you love animals and are looking for a stunning little male to invest your time and love into please read this post.    A friend of mine found this stunning boy a few months ago at the Kerry Centre so I took him in for what was supposed to be a week or two until he got nice and healthy and found a new home but then I fell inlove and kept him, naming him Baby Bear. He goes everywhere with me and I take him for runs daily, he loves other dogs, children and cuddles. He has had all hos injections and deworming to date but now sadly my landlord has decided I can no longer have a pet and hence I need to rehome him.   This is ofcourse very difficult for me to do and it breaks my heart just imagining a day without him but I have to do this and therefore ask if you, or anyone you know, might be able to offer this stunning little love bundle a forever home please get in touch with me soonest.   He has never been in a cage before and never destroyed anything in the apartment so he is used to keeping himself busy with just his toys and naps until you get home from work. I recently had him shaved at the parlour and he has absolutely no health problems.   Please help me out, really appreciate a happy, loving home for this boy and someone who I can keep in touch with because it's hard enough letting him go so atheist getting a picture of him now and then seeing him happy in his new home would be greatly appreciated. I will ofcourse give all puppy pads, feeding bowls, food, toys, lead etc that I have left to you with him as well.he is not big at all, short and stout and full of love    My wechat is shezz428   Thank you
    • I dont think you should expect a lot from the gyms there they are all the same no matter where you go. Over crowded places with people that dont use a towel after they are finished with the machine and never put the stuff back where they get it from.  They all offer the same kind of yoga, sort of dancing and some kind of taebo class.
    • Hi guys, I'm looking for a gym that also has a studio that is able to accommodate pole fitness? I'm near Jinjiang so close to here is more preferred but other locations are okay.  Please reply if you know anything about polefitness... No sleazy messages.
    • ALL THE IDIOTS ABOVE WHO INTRODUCE THEMSELVES HERE... THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THAT I REPEAT,  THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR THAT...
