Aren't some KTV's essentially state-sanctioned semi-legal strip clubs, albeit with karaoke?

Wasn't there a hooters in hangzhou? Or was it Shanghai? I am sure the b cup "hooter girls"  would be interested in a little on the side.

Or if you want a massage you should ask the board's specialist mb88 :p

There was a Hooters here probably six or seven years ago on West Lake Avenue. Lasted about a year or so and then died. It was sort of a novelty among us at the time. Hooters is not a strip club, just a place where women wear tight t-shirts and orange shorts.  Also called a "breastraunt". I never cared and actually dislike the place back in America and think it is an insult to women. The branch in Hangzhou looked EXACTLY like the ones in the USA.

Sort of interesting it went out of business because it had everything for a restaurant to be successful in Hangzhou. To wit:

-Awful food, and this food was shit, and we are just talking about a hamburger and on my second try a steak and cheese. Their speciality is "chicken wings" which can be bought anywhere and not worth the cost there.

-Expensive for what it was. I think there was even a service fee.

-Loud with unnecessary performances by the waitstaff. Chinese love noise, and the louder and gaudier the better. Didn't work.

In the end the place was cursed because a security guard actually DIED in the place after hours watching it (probably because of the employee meal). Made the newspapers and the media, which is how we foreigners heard about it. Chinese are childish and superstitious about death and it was just a bad omen all around. The branch closed up shop and promised a new place the next year which didn't happen and I think they just say that corporate crap to save face instead of admitting their failure.

Probably the Hangzhou people just didn't get or understand the theme. It works in Shanghai because Shanghai is an international city which is five times bigger than Hangzhou which can support foreign businesses like this. I would actually like to have a job where I can advise businesses like this if they can be viable in a marketplace. Papa John's Pizza which is very successful in America (owned by a dickhead but still) but died here. I think Dominoes won't last either, but again, might be wrong. What works in Shanghai might not work here, and would tell a franchiser who sees success in Shanghai to probably try Suzhou first.

Strip clubs? These are really scummy places in America, and a lot of the girls are drug addicts or scammers and the men who go there are classless perverts. Yuck. I would love to see a lot more Westernized culture to come to China, but not those shitholes. Much more problem than what they are worth and many cities in America including mine basically outlawed them for good reason. This summer go to Hong Kong, Thailand or Cambodia and get your freak in there!

Lmao,  all shit related to prostitution, massage, and everything else got shot down 4 years ago.  That's why all of the girls went to wechat. It is just a matter of time till China locks everything and they will start coming Feb with banning all VPN services. Good luck on the intranet if you are srill there.
