Its not Wade or the Vineyards fault that your bikes are been stolen. There are three chinese thiefs that we have witnessed (but couldnt catch) stealing the bikes and batteries. When there is no one in the front they swoop in on their scooter and do the damage.

The vineyard used to have a foreign security guard from New Jersey, and even then we couldnt catch the thiefs and stop them. I suggest you do a better job locking your bikes and locking your batteries to your bike. Or, do as the melbman has said....taxi....walk or bus it to the Vineyard. (The staff is not responsible).

1. Take a taxi instead
2. Your property is your responsibility

Hey look, I agree with both points that other people have made. I certainly wouldn't blame Wade or any of the staff if my bike was stolen near Vineyard. It's not their responsibility and we accept the risk that comes with leaving something in a public area.

I will take a taxi when convenient, but for me the e-bike is just a much better option. From the responses here (and from the number of e-bikes parked outside on a busy night) it seems there are many others who agree.

The point of the thread was not to blame anyone. It was to inquire as to whether there is a potential solution to a growing problem. I don't expect the Vineyard to babysit our things, but if we can work together to solve this issue it would go a long way towards proving that they really do have the interests of the customers in mind.

It does seem that someone owns the bike stealing concession. Maybe even an organized gang.

I agree that this is not Wade's responsibility and what good is a bike rack when attacked by a bolt cutter?

Leaving your ebike at home is sound advice no matter where you are going, if you intend to drink.

Then there is the possibility of a well set trap with no escape route. But then the problem become what to do with the thieves once they are caught. Do you turn them over to the useless PSB or simply beat the ell out of them?

Wow, a foreign security guard couldn't stop them? They were taken from in front of him? Rather brazen thieves, wouldn't you say? Must be a special breed of Chinese thief over there in the Wild West...

He was in charge of the entire venue, not just watching the outside. Projectors and electronic equipment were stolen from the inside once too. We need to all band together and catch these thieves, and then....beat the hell out of them!!!
